Bring a piece of authentic Colorado mining history to your layout with this highly detailed Theresa Mine model. Designed true to scale, this classic gold mine structure captures the rugged character of mountain mining operations that once dotted the Colorado landscape.

Historically, the original mine featured narrow-gauge ore cars running beneath the structure, allowing ore to be dropped down the mountainside—a detail faithfully represented in the design. This model makes an eye-catching centerpiece for scale layouts, mining scenes, or detailed dioramas.

This is a no-assembly model, making it ideal for hobbyists who enjoy painting and weathering without the hassle of glue, tweezers, or complex construction. Simply paint and place to instantly enhance realism on your layout.

Please see photos and review dimensions carefully. The model is designed true to scale.

⚠️ Important Note:
This model was not designed to allow trains to run underneath the mine structure. If you plan to operate trains through the ore car passage, a scaled-up or custom size model may be required to ensure proper clearance. If this applies to your layout, please contact us with your clearance requirements and we’ll be happy to provide options.

A Little About the Mine

This model is based on the real-life Theresa Mine, located near Victor, Colorado. The mine operated from 1895 to 1900 and was one of the few highly profitable gold mines in the state. The steel structure depicted in this model was constructed in 1934, after a fire destroyed most of the original above-ground buildings.

The Theresa Mine produced approximately 120,000 ounces of gold, valued at roughly $230 million in today’s prices, and the mine shaft eventually reached a depth of over 1,600 feet.

Visiting Colorado and feeling adventurous? You can take a short hike and stand right next to this incredible historic structure in person.
