Please see pictures and review dimensions. The model is designed true to scale. The mine originally had narrow gauge ore cars running underneath, providing a convenient way to drop ore over the side of the mountain.
Dimensions: 41mm long x 35mm wide x 54mm tall.
Ore Car Passage: 7.5mm wide x 11.5mm tall.
Please Note: The mine was NOT designed to have trains run under the mine, If you want to run trains underneath the mine in the Ore Car passage, you may want to consider a scaled-up or custom size model to ensure clearance. If this is the case, please contact us with your clearance requirements and we can provide you with options.
A little about the mine...
The model is based off the real-life Theresa Mine located near Victor Colorado. The mine was in operation from 1895 - 1900 and was one of the few profitable Gold Mines in Colorado. The steel structure you see was built in 1934 after a fire burnt down most of the original above ground structures.
The mine produced 120,000 ounces of gold worth about $230 million at today's prices. The shaft was eventually over 1600 feet deep.
